A highly industrialized nation like Germany is used to constantly improving and optimizing processes. With outdated machines or poor site conditions, it is impossible to compete with lower-cost global providers. Alongside innovation, quality and efficiency have therefore become key prerequisites. Companies like ours notice this immediately – we are called whenever something large and heavy needs to be delivered, relocated, or repositioned. An industrial relocation is no longer unusual for us.
Industrial relocations are, of course, always special projects. Even with almost 30 years in this business, it is rare to move the exact same machine twice. This means each industrial relocation must be carefully planned and new solutions developed. Experience and so-called "best practices" help in this process. Every relocation of large machines and industrial plants has its own challenges, but also allows lessons learned from previous moves to be applied.
Several challenges come together in an industrial relocation. First, there is the sheer volume of equipment to be moved. Modern industrial facilities consist of numerous machines and devices – from production and labeling to packaging and shipping. Today’s systems are much more integrated and often consist of continuous production lines that must be carefully dismantled before relocation. The classic individual machines for single, isolated processes, which were easier to move, are becoming less common. This already necessitates comprehensive planning to ensure that dismantling, transport, and reassembly work seamlessly together.
The nature of the transported equipment has also changed significantly. Classic machines are robust due to their size and construction and are less sensitive to transport. Modern production lines, however, are much more delicate. The ongoing miniaturization and digitization of machines and technical systems make them sensitive to shocks, temperature, and humidity fluctuations. All of this must be accounted for in the planning of an industrial relocation.
Finally, production and supply chains have changed dramatically. The failure of individual components can halt an entire production line. If the industrial relocation involves an active production facility, scheduling must be precise to ensure operations at the new location resume quickly without unnecessary delays.
In almost every industrial relocation, not all components of a facility are moved. This is usually due to different infrastructure at the new site or the need to replace outdated elements. Waste disposal of old industrial equipment is strictly regulated in Germany. It is advantageous if the service provider is qualified for this. At Lanzell, we are a certified disposal company and a member of the Waste Disposal Association Berlin-Brandenburg e.V. This allows us to incorporate disposal services directly into an industrial relocation project, saving costs and simplifying the entire process.
Industrial relocations are often massive projects. So many individual efforts come together that it is impossible to give a cost estimate in advance. After a thorough assessment of the required work and an on-site inspection, a preliminary or final offer can usually be provided quickly. An industrial relocation always has a cost, but with long-term experience and the right equipment, it costs no more than necessary.
Call us and tell us more about your planned industrial relocation. You will quickly receive a complete project plan at a fair price.
We will provide you with a tailored offer.
Although Lanzell is based in Berlin, we operate throughout Germany. In addition to handling heavy and delicate individual items,
we also plan and execute complete
plant and industrial relocations. We see ourselves as a full-service provider for all project phases, paying particular attention to
economic aspects. An industrial relocation cannot be cheap, but experience and the selection of appropriate equipment
(e.g., mobile crane) help to significantly reduce effort and, consequently,
costs. In addition to machines and equipment, we also transport
IT and server technology as well as boilers and heating
systems. For necessary office moves as part of an industrial relocation, we provide a complete range of services.
